London Book Fair & Getting to the Good BIT

It's weird to realise that a year has passed since we announced opening the literary agency (at the 2006 London Book Fair) with well, very few authors and at that stage no done deals. It was thrilling therefore to turn up with a full list and a lot of deals under my belt at the IRC at Earls Court and have three days of solid appointments with publishers interested in my wares, but even more thrilling to start to see the outcomes of last year's work.

Most exciting was seeing finished cover artwork for two of our projects

The Toyboy Diaries by Wendy Salisbury. Old Street and Random House Germany are taking very different design approaches, but both are very strong and, well, real looking

And then there are the Helen FitzGerald ones from Ambo|Anthos in the Netherlands and Allen & Unwin in Australia. Her other publishers' are not onto covers yet, but with these two for starters I think Helen is assured of a very very stylish launch. She's coming out as 'Dead Lovely' in Australia and 'Little Girls' in all other territories. I've only got these as pdfs which Blogger doesn't like, so I shall have to work out how to convert them before I can upload them.

But it is a very satisfying feeling.
